Over twenty visiting Music teachers come to Macarthur each week. Each of these teachers is a specialist in a particular instrument and they provide individual and small ensemble instruction. Tuition is available on a fee-for-service basis on the piano, voice, strings, percussion, brass, and woodwind instruments and on the bagpipes.
Lessons are thirty minutes in duration and are held each week. Lessons are scheduled at recess, lunch, after school and during some class times. There is an expectation that children who seek peripatetic lessons will practise at home. Peripatetic teachers provide families with regular progress reports.
