Singing is fundamental in the musical development of all students. From Transition and Kindergarten through to Year 12 singing takes an important place in the Music Programmes at Macarthur. Students have many opportunities to explore their vocal potential through peripatetic music lessons, School Choirs and a variety of Vocal Ensembles, in recitals and in lead and chorus parts in annual School Musicals.

Junior School Choir

Students in Years 1 to 4 have the opportunity to experience the joy of singing as an ensemble right from the early stages of their schooling. Girls and boys are encouraged to sing a great variety of songs and perfect them for performance. Audiences are charmed on a regular basis with the singing charm of our youngest Macarthur students.

School Choir

Students in Years 5 to 12 have the wonderful opportunity to sing exciting and musically rewarding repertoire in four-part harmony. Students sing a broad and diverse range of available repertoire from Broadway to the Sacred classics. The Choir regularly successfully performs at Eisteddfods, Community events and actively participates in major events in the School Calendar.

Junior School Choral Ensemble

Students in Years 5 and 6 have the wonderful opportunity to sing as an ensemble throughout the year. Students enjoy the opportunity to sing repertoire which is suitable to their age and are extended in many exciting ways in their singing abilities throughout the school year.

Vocal Ensemble

Middle and Senior School students receiving vocal tuition have the wonderful opportunity to sing accapella, explore the role of harmony and vocal improvisation. The Vocal Ensemble explores a wide range of contemporary repertoire and focusses on the development of the inner singing ear.
