Curriculum Choices

From Kindergarten to Year 8, students study a set curriculum largely determined by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) and the School. From Year 9, students begin to elect subjects they wish to pursue. All the subjects offered at Macarthur are designed to assist students to matriculate and proceed to future tertiary study.

Year 9 and Year 10 study some compulsory subjects as well as elective subjects:

Year 9 and Year 10 Subject Choices

Students choose three electives from the following list of subjects:

  • Visual Arts
 

Year 11 and Year 12 choose a range of subjects for their Higher School Certificate (HSC). English is a compulsory subject for the award of an HSC.

  • English Extension 2 (Year 12 only)
Note: One English course is mandatory
