For the 2024 Programme, applications are especially welcome for Trumpet and Violin Tutors.
Peripatetic Programme:
Macarthur's Peripatetic Programme offers individual instrumental and vocal lessons during the school day and a select number of tutors teach after school. The school has some of the finest instrumental and vocal teachers from Sydney and our surrounding local areas.
These lessons are open to all students in Kindergarten to Year 12 and structured to meet their developmental needs. Please see below for a list of instruments offered.
Kindergarten to Year 2: Piano, Violin, Viola, Harp, Guitar (Guitar is for Year 2 on a trial basis only).
Year 3 to 12: Guitar, Piano, Violin, Viola, Harp, Cello, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Percussion, Voice (Classical, Contemporary and Music Theatre for all voice types - Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass).
Lessons are 30 minutes in length. It is recommended that students of higher grades take one hour lessons to cover syllabus requirements.
Curriculum Instrument Programme:
Years 3 to 6 participate weekly in the Curriculum Instrument Programme, taught by music tutors on an instrument of their choice as part of their classroom learning. The instruments available to choose from are Harp, Cello, Violin, Drum Corps, Percussion, Trumpet, Trombone, Saxophone, Clarinet and Flute. Students are required to remain on their chosen instrument for the duration of the Programme and are encouraged to enhance their learning with Peripatetic Music lessons.
